Here is the latest newborn at the rescue, rehabilitation and release center of Macaw Mountain! After an incubation time of about 28 days, this young scarlet macaw broke the eggshell with a little tooth it has on the beak, called egg tooth. This toothlike structure will then disappear . This chick will be handraised by our team as part of the ongoing reproduction program to enhance future release possibilities in other parts of the country.
