Humpback whales arrived in French Polynesia!
In the bora Bora lagoon, a young adult humpback whale stayed in the area for about 5 days, under attentive and amazed eyes.
She spent the weekend of 22 and 23 June in the Bora Bora Pass, next to the surf spot, and then went into the lagoon for three days before getting back to the open ocean.
The association Mata Tohora reminds you that it is essential to slow down to at least three knots to avoid collisions and to leave her alone. Since 2018, the government of French Polynesia has prohibited whale-watching in lagoons, passes and bays.
